Jerry M. Waites

Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Waites; his daughters Mia Carter (Joey) and Cindy Dowdy (Dexter); and his son Jimmy Garrett (Kenneth); his sister Jackie Bishop (Tommy); his grandchildren, Stephen Garrett (Angela), Megan Mosser (Joe), Ashley Garrett, Jesse Bastian (Stephen), Patrick Cochran (Jacqueline) and Allison Cochran; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Bud Waites and his mother Mabel Waites; his brother W.A. Waites; his sister Sarah Jo Sexton and his sister Betty Rob Norred.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Forbus officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Jerry will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason Alverson, Stephen Garrett, Shorty Freeman, Conner Nickolson, Brody Nickolson and Joe Mosser.

Jerry worked for American Color Graphics for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association.
