George L. Buckner

George is survived by his wife, Bobbie Buckner; his son Leslie Keith Buckner (Arleen); and his daughter Trena M. Buckner Hardy; his sisters Opal Stone of Warner Robbins, GA and Margaret Stevens of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren Ashley Thornton (Bobby) and Jessica Thornton (Chandler), his great grandchildren Erica Jordan (Darvionce), Colby Thornton, Sasha Thornton, Leah Thornton, and Winter Rayne Thornton and his great great grandchild Alaia Jordan.

George was preceded in death by his father James Buckner and his mother Myrtle Buckner; his brothers Preston Buckner, Harold Buckner, and Tyler Buckner and his sister Ann Downs.

A visitation for George will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home. George will be laid to rest in Tallasahatchie Cemetery, Sylacauga, AL. All services will be officiated by Pastor Larry Criss.

George worked for Coosa Valley Electric Company for 37 years. Pallbearers will be Aaron Pate, Robert Smith, Marty Hayse, Warren Green, Daron Phillips and Allan Vincent. The employees of Coosa Valley Electric will be honorary pallbearers.
