Fred served in the Navy as well as the National Guard. He worked at Kimberly Clark for 20 years until he opened 2 stores in the Coosa County area. Most people knew him as Toodlum. He had a gift of making others laugh. He loved serving and giving back to his community. He was an avid fisherman and spent many peaceful hours on the water. After he retired he drove a school bus for Coosa County for 13 years. He loved the Lord and served as Deacon at Sardis Baptist Church for 22 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice Barnett Calloway, son, Alan Calloway (Kathy), daughter, Keri Calloway Blankenship (Steve), 4 grandsons, Troy Calloway (Nicole), Jeffery Blankenship (Lauren), Hunter Calloway (Cayce), Kallen Blankenship, 7 great grandchildren, sister, Janice Calloway Garrison (Ron), sister-in-law, Louise Calloway and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Maggie Calloway, brothers, Billy Ray Calloway, Harry Calloway, Labronze Calloway, sisters, Mauzelle Thomas, Majorie Nelson and Helen Dean.
A Graveside service will be held, Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11AM at Sardis Cemetery with Bro. Matthew Reams and Bro. Jeff Hardy officiating.
Pallbearers will be Troy Alan Calloway, Jeffery Blankenship, Hunter Clifton Calloway, Kallen Steven Blankenship, Steve Blankenship and Brantley Hudson.
