Dewey "Butch" R. Dobbs

Butch is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Dobbs; his daughters Elizabeth Butts (Ronald) and Cristy Hannah (Jerry); his brothers Larry Dobbs (Nancy) and Roger Dobbs (Lynette), his sisters Faye Myrick, Jane Fisher (Mike) and Nelda Loftis; his grandchildren Chance Butts (Angel), Stephen McCain, and Ginna McCain and his great grandchild Preslee Rae Butts.

Butch was preceded in death by his father Dewey Dobbs and his mother Estelle Dobbs; his brothers Kenneth Dobbs, David Dobbs and Jimmy Dobbs; and his sisters Mary Frost and Barbara Ballard.

A visitation for Butch will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Sylacauga. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery where Butch will be laid to rest. All services will be officiated by Pastor Joe Camp.

Serving as pallbearers are Josh Cleveland, Billy Ballard, Keith Barnett, Jacob Watts, Norman Dobbs, Malachai Dial and Mike Rudd.

Butch drove an 18 wheeler for 51 years prior to retirement. He won truck rodeos and was rewarded multiple "Million Mile" plaques. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
