It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, uncle and father Richard Donovan on Mar 2, 2023 at home surrounded by the love of his sister and nephew. Born Feb 13, 1958, in Brantford Ont, he was the son of the late Clifford and Yvonne Donovan.
Richard is survived by his sons; Richard Michael Donovan (Melissa LaCroix), John Joseph Adam Donovan and James Garrett Clifford Donovan, grandson Jaxson Luke Michael Donovan-LaCroix, his siblings; Michael T. Donovan (Crystal), Halifax NS, Jack Donovan, Moncton NB, Susan MacDonald, Sydney NS, two very close nephews Ian and Bruce MacDonald, special niece Jacquline MacDonald and the mother of his children Katherine Unger, Toronto Ont. Richard also leaves behind many more nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Richard is predeceased by his brothers Kippy and Parnell Donovan and sisters Deborah Donovan and Annette Falt.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel on Wed, Mar 8th at 11am with Deacon Michael McCarvill officiating. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed via TW Curry’s Facebook page. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Ally Center in Sydney.
