We the family, announce with sadness in our hearts, the passing of our dear Mary Veronica Paul, on April 23, 2022, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Mary was born on March 14, 1953 to parents Rene and Ann Isabel (Francis) Paul in Sydney.
Mary lived a quiet life in Membertou, until she came to reside at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Mary loved making Mi’kmaq crafts and beadwork, and was also talented at crocheting. She was an avid painter, and attended many Pow-wows in the community. Mary liked to keep active, often going for walks and bike rides. Her faith was important to her, she was a parishioner of St. Anthony Daniel, and later St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. Mary was a member of the Membertou Club 55, and had a soft spot for animals, particularly cats.
Mary is predeceased by her parents Rene and Ann Isabel (Francis) Paul, and foster parents John and Annie Googoo. She is also predeceased by her siblings Tommy Paul, Nelson Morris and Valerie Paul. Left to mourn are Mary’s children; Monica Paul, William Andros, Dwan Starr Paul, Leo Marshall and Wamoni Job Paul. She is also survived by her siblings; Joanie Paul (John Gerard), Ricky Paul and Billy Paul, as well as foster siblings; Patricia, Noel, Isabel, Linda, Carolyn, John, Phillip and Wanda. Mary will also be remembered fondly by her grandchildren; Cameron Burton, Jansen Burton, Ariah Andros, and Jacob Andros as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel Saturday, April 30th, 2pm to 4pm, and 7pm to 9pm. The visitation will continue Sunday, May 1st, 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys at 11am, on Monday May 2nd. Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Memories and condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
