Surrounded by her loving family, it is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Peggy MacMullin on Monday, March 26, 2012.
Born in Creignish Rear, Inverness County, she was the daughter of the late Bernie and Mary (MacDonald) MacNeil.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband o0f 48 years, Norman, loving children Norma Jean (Fred) MacDonald; Dean (Janice); Gayle (Earl) Cooper, all of Halifax; Cara MacMullin (Alyas Ali), Toronto; sisters Bernadette (Wally) Schella, Corrine (Roy) Taylor; brothers Dougie (Karen), Billy, and Brent (Lorna).
Nanny’s proudest joys were her loving grandchildren Mitchell, Taylor, Hilary, Nicole, James and Abigayle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was predeceased by brothers Donnie and Jimmy ‘Jake’, sisters Deannie and Florence and Joan Arlene in infancy.
An avid bowler, Peggy also enjoyed fiddle music, step dancing and a game of tarabish during summers spent at Ben Eoin Beach Campground. She was also an active parishioner of St. Anthony Daniel parish and a member of CWL for over 40 years. Peggy will always be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her courage, and never ending sense of humour.
Peggy wished to extend a special thank you to her dear friend Carol Dziubek. The family would like to thank Dr. William Harless, the Cancer Care Unit, the VON, and AnCala Unit for the exceptional care and support they provided.
Visitation for Mrs. MacMullin will he held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 29 at 11 am at St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Donald MacGillivary officiating.
