Kateri Marie Ann Sapier passed away suddenly at home on Monday October 30th 2023.
She was born March 8 1997 in Sydney N.S born to Michael Joseph Sapier and Alexis Marie Sapier nee Marshall.
One of Kateri’s proudest accomplishments alongside her baby boy was that she was a graduate from the Allison Bernard Memorial High School in which she graduated from in 2015. She then went on to work at places such as the Eskasoni Supermarket for a number of years, Potlotekewey Expedition, Sequoyah’s Cafe' and was recently accepted to work at the local Tim Hortons in Eskasoni. Kateri loved people and people loved her. This is how she will be remembered. Someone who loved relentlessly. It didn't matter the occasion, Kateri always made it a point to attend each and every family function near and far and would often help out with the cooking. Kateri wasn't just a mother to one. Kateri was a mother to many often being called "auntie-mom" to special niece Alexis and Barbara as well as her nephew Karlsson.
Kateri is survived by her one and only baby boy Marshall Sapier, sisters Mary Sapier (Will ) and Shaelyn "Auntie Baby" Paul, brothers Michael Sapier Jr. and Tyrone Sack. Kateri had a large extended family in Potlotek, Millbrook & Eskasoni along with many close friends and many past coworkers who she too considered as her family.
Kateri is predeceased by her late mother Alexis Marie Sapier; brother Louie Thomas George Sapier and sister Viney Rose Sapier.
Visitation will take place at the family home at Viney Sapier’s – 4686 Shore Rd. Eskasoni on November 11 starting at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Nov 13, at 10:30am at Holy Family Church in Eskasoni, with Fr. Antolin Asor and Deacon Tom Sylliboy officiating.
