It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt on Monday, July 27. Born on July 20, 1947, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Allen Michael “Cal” O’Handley and surviving mother, Catherine O’Handley (MacIntyre). She was a teacher of 35 years, with most of her career working for the Eskasoni School Board, where she made tremendous impact on so many and made many of whom became her life-long friends. She loved going to breakfast club and always anxiously awaited supper club with her dearest friends. She grew up in Sydney, where she lived and met the love of her life, Keith. She was an amazing mother that cherished her children dearly. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Keith James Rogers; son, Bryce Rogers (Ally); daughter, Shannon MacDonald (Shannon); grandchildren, Kolby, Brianna, Julia, Maddy and Ceilidh. She is also survived by her brother, Charlie O’Handley (Jean) as well as two nieces, a nephew and several cousins. Besides her father, she was pre-deceased by several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held at TW Curry Parkview Chapel in Sydney on Thursday, July 30th, from 6 until 8 p.m. for family and close friends.
