It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, uncle and friend Richard Harold Doucette on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the CBRH surrounded by his loving family. Ricky is the son of the late John Joseph and Pauline (Hunt) Doucette of Membertou.
Ricky was one of the original members of the Sons of Membertou drum group. Ricky had a big heart and would try to help anyone in need. Ricky will be remembered for his contagious laugh and loved having a good time with family and friends.
Left to mourn his passing are his brothers Mark (Lori), Stephen, sisters Kathleen (John). Anne Marie (Ron), his beloved nephews Justin, Brandon, Nathan, Carter, Hunter, Alexavier, niece Katie (Mitchell), great nephews Carson, Luka, Kenzie, great niece Ellie and godmother Mary Ellen (Googoo), uncle Richie Hunt along with many cousins and friends.
Besides his parents, Ricky was also predeceased by his grandparents Richard (Evelynn) Hunt, Joseph (Isabelle) Doucette and godfather Francis Googoo.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 on Monday and Tuesday, December 16 & 17 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, Dec. 18th at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot St., Sydney with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Interment will take place in Membertou Memorial Gardens. Salite will follow in the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.
