It is with deep sadness that the family of Sharon Catherine Ormond announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 80 years of age. Born in Sydney to the late Aseph and Nora (Burke) Wambolt. Sharon was a strong catholic women to whom family was everything with her biggest joy being her kids and grandchildren. When her kids were young Sharon became involved in the Girl Guides, where she remained as a leader for over 30 years. She developed a love of travelling making several trips to Europe, Scotland the UK as well as numerous other areas. Sharon also enjoyed all kinds of crafts, but especially quilting.
Sharon was a loving wife to Edmund, mother to her children Kelly (Rick) MacLean, Douglas (Donna), Edmund jr (Mylene Caron) and Jamie (Angela Gratton) as well as a beloved grandmother to Danielle, Geoffrey, Janelle, Amanda, Brianna, Olivia, Logan, Ryan and Emily as well as her 7 great grandchildren and her sister Judy (John) Cechetto
Besides her parents, Sharon is predeceased by her brothers Bill and Donald.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16 from 6 until 9pm at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am at St. Theresa’s Church, 381 Whitney St. with Fr. Evo Di Pierro officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
