Peacefully with the setting sun on the last day of winter, our beloved husband and father, Arthur Joseph Bray passed from this life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
Born at home in Port Morien, he was the second born son of the late John Francis & Agnes (Kanary) Bray.
Dad was an entrepreneur and artist. He loved to paint and his works can be found in private collections throughout the world. He worked at his gallery at the Sydney Cruise Pavilion with his son Kevin at his side right up until this past October. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Catherine Anne (McNeil) and predeceased by his son Michael Francis Bray, survived by children: Kevin(Patricia),Whitney Pier; Cathy (Allan) Murrant, Sand Lake; Stephen(Jennifer), Glace Bay; Cheryl Bray ( Andrew Gingell), Howie Centre, also survived by 18 grandchildren, Christopher, Colin, Keelan, Jesse, Brannon, Jennifer, Michelle, Keila, Nicholas, Kevin, Emily, Erin, Catherine, Kelly, Jack, Erik, Sarah, Iain and 6 great grandchildren, Maya, Luca, Anderson, Colden, Summer and Colin. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Thomas, Patrick, Mary McInnis, Carmel Smyth, Frank and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arthur was predeceased by brothers, George, William, Gerald and sister Monica.
Visitation for Mr. Bray will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Thursday (today) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Joachim Church, Boularderie with Fr. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
