We the family are saddened to announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend, Scott B. Whitty on October 5, 2022. He was born on December 22, 1947 in Neil's Harbour. Scott was raised by his loving grandparents John T. Whitty and Bridget (Hines) Whitty. He is survived by his 2 brothers, John (Claudia) Whitty and Adrian (Patsy) Whitty.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, his sisters Theresa Ross, Ellen Pellerine and Lena MacNeil, brothers Charles, Godfrey and Albert, nephews Gary, Frankie and Bobby MacNeil, Stewart Whitty and Godfrey Pellerine.
Scott worked in the lumber industry in the Mira for Dan MacDonald for many years. After that, he worked on the oil rigs until his retirement. In his younger years, he enjoyed caddying on the golf course, skating, square dancing and great rock n' roll. The years Scott spent at the Cove, he enjoyed painting wimple wood carvings and listening to the weekly live entertainment.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1pm at St. Peter's Church, Ingonish with the Funeral Mass commencing at 1pm with Fr. Jonas officiating. Inurnment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
