Judy was a devoted follower of Christ for well over 35 years and an active member of the Gospel Hall, Sydney Mines. It was her great privilege to teach Sunday School at the Hall and many Saturday nights would see her at the kitchen table preparing her lessons. Her summers were spent at the cottage in Baddeck with the love of her life enjoying the peacefulness of God’s creation and attending the local Gospel Hall. Mom was a private person known for speaking her mind, her love for Jesus and her definite flare for style with those beautiful church hats.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles ‘Bud’ Forrest and her children; Gwenna (Mark) MacDonald, Ont., Greg Forrest, Ont., Charles Forrest, Ont., Stacey (Sanford) Ochuschayoo, Millcreek, Melissa (Chris) Serroul, Halifax and Timothy (Carissa) Forrest, BC. Her sister Linda Carrier, QC and her 28 grandchildren along with 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, and infant daughter Charlene. A special thanks to her granddaughter, Sarah-Jane who has taken care of her Nanny until the very end as well as the many VON and Palliative Care Nurses.
While she will be desperately missed and our hearts are broken, we take great comfort in knowing where our Mother is and in whose presence. But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.
A private family service will take place at the Gospel Hall. Interment to take place in Brookside Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.fillmoreandwhitman.com.
