William A. Zurawski, “Bill Z,” age 70, of Swansea, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Gail (Harrop) Zurawski to whom he has been married for the past 33 years.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of the late Charles and Irene (Webber) Zurawski, he lived in Providence before moving to Swansea.
A graduate of Hope High School, class of 1962, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Northeastern University in 1967. He was a Veteran of the United Sates Army serving during the Vietnam War as Sergeant.
Mr. Zurawski worked as a mail handler for the Brockton Post Office for many years before retiring in 2013. He also worked in sales and management for various trucking companies in the area.
A member of a local Corvette Club, he enjoyed driving his corvette, going to the movies, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, he survived by one son: William C. Zurawski and his wife Lora of West Greenwich, one daughter: Jennifer L. Dos Anjos and her husband Antonio of Swansea, one brother: Charles Zurawski and his wife Carol of Chepachet, RI, seven grandchildren: Tess, Gabriel, Andrew, Seth, Hayley, Lindsey, Reilly, many nieces, nephews, and his dog Woofie.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston MA 02114. Burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea.
