Born in Fall River she was the daughter of Ronald Correa of Swansea and the late Genevieve (Raposa) Correa, she was a life-long resident of the area.
A graduate Joseph Case High School, Class of 1980, she later earned an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting from Bristol Community College. An avid golfer, she coached both basketball and softball in Swansea for many years, loved walking with her dogs, Whitney, Snoopy, Ginger, and Snickers. She was also an avid fan of all the New England sports teams. She was administrative assistant for the Swansea Police Chief for many years. She was selfless and always thought of others before herself, never once complaining about anything. She was a fighter until the very end, and she fought for her children every day of her life without a second thought.
Survivors include: two children, Zachary Reis and his fiancé Jennifer Lussier of Swansea and Rebecca Reis of Swansea; two sisters-in-law, Lisa Ferreira of Dighton and Laura Mello of Swansea; a sister, Lori Arruda of Swansea and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visitation Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial in Vinnicum Wood Cemetery, Swansea.
