Hilda Medeiros, age 90, of Swansea, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Fall River Jewish Home. Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Antone and Joana (Amaral) Medeiros, she was a longtime resident of Swansea.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, she worked in the manufacturing industry for many years. She was a communicant of St. Dominic’s Church and was a member of their Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Swansea Grange and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by one nephew, David A. Gracia and his wife Cynthia of Riverside, RI; great-niece, Nicole Andreozzi and her husband Anthony, two great-great nieces, Maddison Cabral, Delilah Andreozzi and one great-great nephew Logan Andreozzi. She was the sister of the late Joseph Medeiros, Joana Gracia, Alzira “Ziggy” DeMattos and was aunt of the late Stephen F. Gracia.
Her Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in St. Dominic’s Church, 1277 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o St. Dominic’s Church. Burial will take place in in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
