Thinking of everyone as you gather tomorrow to celebrate an amazing woman.  She was a wonderful neighbour, could always be counted on for a cup of sugar, a handful of Halloween candy or a ride in the rain.

When I was in my teens, Mrs. Mitchell provided a gathering place for the White Rock gang.  My lasting memories are of the ping pong,  the cookies, playing against Mr. Mitchell, the guys and the Mitchell girls. 
In later years Ann and I visited White Rock and always received a warm welcome.  We invariably would end our time with her, eating fish and chips at Salty’s.  Our loving thoughts are with all the family.

Rhoda was a lovely women and our good neighbor for years.
She will be missed.

To Joan, Judy and families. So sorry to hear of your loss. Rhoda has left you all with such good memories and lots of fun times to cherish forever. 
One of my favourite vacations as a child was in 1976 when I was 12 and travelled from Houston to Whiterock with Rhoda’s granddaughter (Lorna) to spend 10 days with Grandma Rhoda.  Coming from a small town this was a huge trip for me (not to mention being away from my parents) We had so much fun!! She took us every where in her old Mercedes. We went to the PNE, Planitarium, Stanley Park Aquarium, PNE parade, swam in the ocean at Whiterock, visited friends with boys  in Cresent Beach, shopped at Guilford. In the evenings Alex taught us how to play pool while Rhoda prepared and planned the next days food and agenda. I also remember we bought a new cassette tape “ Goofy Greats” which I’m sure drove Rhoda crazy after hearing it over and over, but she just joined in and sang along.....even to the song we changed the words to “ The little old lady from Thrift Ave Whiterock”  (instead of Passadina) . Funny thing is I thought she was old when  I was there in 1976 ( must have been her white hair). Now I’m that age and a Grandma and I hope I can give someone the memories that she gave me. I’m also thankful that I was able to visit her a few times in the last four years in the same house on Thrift Ave and to see her puzzling and playing scrabble was an inspiration. Thanks for the memories. RIP Rhoda❤️

I am sorry truly sorry girls for your loss.  I remember both of you.
I saw your MOM many times over the years passed her house every day
on my way home from work. She was such a jolly person and never failed 
to remember all the kids that went to school with you both, she was a truly
glad to see  you never stopped smiling and laughing about many things , My heart

We were so sorry to hear about Rhoda's passing. We had the privilege of knowing Rhoda through her decades of volunteering at Peace Arch Hospital.  Rhoda shared her smile, laugh and guidance with many, making a difference to those in need. She kept the Information Desk well organized and was a role model to others. She supported us with many cups of tea, a listening ear, and even taught some of us how to Skype. Rhoda was a very special person, and will always hold a place in our hearts.
