Gertrude "Trudi" Lillian (Hopton) Minty

Trudi was born July 23, 1943 in Campbell River, BC, the fifth child of Frederick and Caroline Hopton. She passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at The Residence at Morgan Heights in South Surrey, BC, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Gloria Dickson and Lyle Gallagher and her son Michael Minty.

Trudi is survived by her loving husband Wayne of 60 years, daughter Michelle Steuart (Robert), three grandchildren, Michael, Kyran and Nolan Steuart and siblings Patricia Morison and Frederick Hopton (Margaret).

Trudi was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, auntie, wife, mother, and grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends and enriched the lives of others with her generous and joyful spirit, her supportive and cheerful attitude and her beautiful smile.

Her favourite pastimes included sewing, knitting, crocheting, RV adventures with her husband and enjoying lake life on Vaseux Lake in the Okanagan. For the past 12 years, while Trudi struggled with dementia, she was happy, maintained her playful sense of humour and spread joy and kindness to those around her. She was supported by the very caring staff at The Residence at Morgan Heights for the last 3.5 years, and our family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone there.

Trudi will be forever missed and always in our hearts. May you fly with the angels.
