Steven L. Wells of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 70, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 22, 1954, to Onnie Rea Oakes and Macon Lamar Wells. Steve grew up in Rolling Meadows, IL, and lived in Elk Grove Village, IL, for 35 years.
Steve was a loving husband to Kim (Schulz) Wells for 44 years. He was a loving father to Kristina Wells, Dan (Jenn) Wells, grandfather to Payton, Rylee, and grand pup Hank, brother to Patti McGill and Debbie Sager, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Steve and Kim retired to Arizona in 2021 after Steve retired from the aviation industry.
He was an avid sports fan who was passionate about golf, bean bags, baseball and Nascar.
Steve’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and neighbors. Steve will be deeply missed, but his impact on the lives of so many will forever be remembered.
