She was born Sandra Louise Huntley on July 27, 1951, in Spokane, Washington. Sandie moved to Edmonds, Washington as a child. As an adult she moved to Arlington, Washington in 1980 to raise her family, and lived there for 11 years before moving back to Spokane in 1991. In Spokane, she reunited with her childhood love, Steven Shepard. They were married on June 25, 1995.
She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Huntley in 2000 at age 71, and by her father Edward Huntley, Sr. in 2009 at age 80.
She is survived by her loving husband Steven Shepard, her sister Cheryl Bartlett (husband Larry), and her brother Edward Huntley, Jr. (wife Josie). She is also survived by her children Tammy Felicijan (husband Paul), Jennifer Mead, and Richie Bledsoe, her 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Sandie was a loving and compassionate mother, sister, and friend to many and lived out her passion for helping others through advocacy work in the social service industry. Her zest for life kept her busy in social activities and she loved to spend time with her husband riding motorcycles for charity events. Family was very important to Sandie, and she always put others’ needs first before her own. As a strong Christian woman, her unending faith in Jesus Christ held her fervently to the word of God, never faltering in her belief of everlasting salvation.
Sandie’s humble spirit and compassion has been felt by all who knew her. She will live on in our hearts forever.
