Norman Earl Olson

Norman Earl Olson of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on April 11, 2023 at the age of 91. Norman was born on December 22, 1931, in Oregon. where he joined his parents Elmer and Marian Olson and his brother Rusty.

Norman graduated from McMinnville High School in 1949 and enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed in San Diego, California. Norman was married to Wynona Woods in 1953 while he was still in the military. After being honorably discharged, Norman returned to McMinnville where he enrolled in college at Linfield University to study business.

Norman spent most of his career with the State of Oregon Department of Revenue in Salem where he eventually retired early at age 55 in 1986.

Norman was always one to laugh and was quick with his wit. He had lots of friends and he made it easy for others to get to know him. Norman remarried in 1977 to Sharon and they were married for about 37 years. Norman loved to golf and spent much of his retirement golfing with Shari and friends in Albany, Lake Havasu and Surprise. In his spare time, he also enjoyed crosswords and reading.

Norman is survived by his son Robert N Olson of Salem, Oregon, his daughter Carolyn Lane of Redmond, Oregon, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
