James Anthony Thompson

James Anthony Thompson was called home on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the age of 63. He was born on October 16, 1960 in Tyler, Texas. But was a true Arizonan, growing up in Surprise, Arizona. James graduated from Dysart High School in 1979. He attended Phoenix College on a football scholarship, earning his Bachelor's Degree. James worked for USG subsidiaries for 40 plus years. Most recently with L&W Supply Company as a delivery driver.

James was an avid car enthusiast, having recently received his NASCAR driver certification. James loved hunting and fishing. He was a novice to big game hunting having bagged his first ELK in 2021. James could always be found doing something outdoors. He took great pride and pleasure in tending to our vegetable garden and beautiful backyard.

James is preceded in death by his father, James Roland Thompson. Survived by his wife, Sheryl A Thompson.

Children: James Allan Thompson and Chelsea Lane Thompson.

Stepchildren: Stephanie Cagle (David) and Eric Ellis (Desiray).

Grandchildren: Anthony Thompson, Allan Thompson, and Aja Cagle.

Mother: Mable C. Thompson.

Siblings: Garie Thompson (Debra), Linda Thompson, and Charles Thompson.

And a host of family members in Arizona, Texas, California, and Nebraska.

Memorial Services will be held at Surprise Funeral Care
