Sheila was born on October 8, 1946, in Bloomington IL. As a child, her family relocated to Phoenix where she graduated from Camelback High school in 1964. In 1969, she married Chuck Reading, and they had two daughters, Heather and Lori. She worked in the school library for the Paradise Valley School District for over 20 years.
Sheila was an outstanding athlete who played women’s league fastpitch softball for many years. She also loved playing golf, bowling and Bunco. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family - especially her grandkids, traveling to Prescott, Arizona, watching the Phoenix Suns and playing King on the Corner card game. Sheila always had a smile to give and will be missed by those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Grace Bell, and brothers Gary, Zane and Stan. Sheila is survived by her husband of 54 years, Chuck Reading; their children, Heather (Darcy) Bergen, and Lori Biesel; grandchildren, Jacob Riley, Brock, Brett and Blake Biesel; and a large extended family.
The family wishes to thank Huger Mercy Living Center for their support and care these last three years.
"A Celebration of Life open house will be held for Sheila on March 2, 2024 from 11am to 2pm at the Bergen's residence."
