Richard Donald D'Angelo Jr.

Richard (Dickie) D. D’Angelo, Jr., 69, of Sun City, Arizona passed away July 14, 2020 from complications due to skin cancer. He is survived by his loving mother, Geraldine and the late Richard D. D’Angelo, Sr., siblings Barbara (Robert) Maier, Patricia (Michael) Dimino, David (Lisa) D’Angelo, Nancy (John) Briggs and Donna (Thomas) Murphy, and life-long friend David (Diane) Sipos, as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Dickie grew up in Kenmore, NY where he attended St. Paul’s Grammar School and graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School in 1969. He excelled in sports, especially baseball and was the catcher on many teams from the Kenmore Little Knights to the O’Hara Hawks, the Union Painters and J.C. Stephens teams in MUNY and AAABA leagues. He was named to the All Catholic team in both 1968 and 1969 and was inducted into O’Hara’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Dick moved to Los Angeles in 1976 where he worked at Paramount and Warner Brothers studios as a set dresser. During his career he worked on several movies including “The Men’s Club” and “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” as well as many TV shows such as “Star Trek”, “The Shield” and “The Office”.

He retired in 2012 and moved to Sun City, Arizona where he enjoyed the recreation centers and pools daily. Dickie enjoyed golfing, listening to the blues and hosting Buffalo Bills parties during the football season where he would treat everyone to his famous wings and Sahlen’s hotdogs!

Dickie was a friend to all who knew him and lived life to the fullest.
