Mary K. Abel, 96, passed away March 10th, 2017 in Peoria, AZ. She was born in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Frank S and Mary “Mae” Neighbour. On May 14th, 1943, she married John R. Abel who preceded her in death in 2004. They spent most of their life together in Coshocton and Athens, Ohio before retiring to Sun City, Arizona in 1991. After raising her three sons, Mary went back to college and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Ohio University. She taught elementary school in Athens, Ohio. Mary enjoyed playing bridge and other card games with family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Mark R. (Marti), Columbus, OH, Richard B. (Mary), Athens, OH, John D. (Rea), Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, David E. (Kathy), Catherine S., both of Columbus, OH, Karl A. (Karen), Chandler, AZ, Jason M, Athens, OH; great grandchildren Matthew and Caroline both of Columbus, OH. A graveside Memorial Service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, OH on April 1st at 1:00 P.M.
