Born in 1917 she lived a pioneer lifestyle. She grew to be a warm, dignified, generous and amazing and loving person. Earning the respect of everyone who knew her.
Because her father traveled a lot in his work, they moved often. Gwen spent years in Idaho and Provo, Utah. She graduated from Heyburn High School in Idaho. She then settled in the Salt Lake City area, where she met the love of her life, Marven Clayton and they were married in 1940.
She attended Salt Lake Business College and held several accounting positions including one at the Hotel Utah. They had four wonderful children. Because of Marven's business affiliations and activities in the Freemasons, they were able to do a lot of world wide traveling. They retired and moved to Sun City West, Arizona in 1986.
Gwen is survived by her wonderful and loving sister, Sylvia (Norton) Salt Lake City, Utah. She had 11 grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; her son Ralph Clayton; daughters, Sherry (Christensen), Karen (Doulgerakis) and Crystal (Bigge); Her brother Dwain Marshall; Sister Alta (Hart); and grandson, Zachary.
Gwen's memorial service will be held at the Dignity Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, Arizona on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by a reception.
