Florence E. Bartz

Florence Esther (Zahn) Bartz passed away peacefully on April 3, 2012 in Sun City, Arizona. She was born January 17, 1922, daughter of Lydia and Emil Zahn in the town of Summit, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Florence was baptized into God’s family on February 5, 1922 by Reverend Fred Schwertfeger. She was confirmed in faith on June 7, 1936 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Golden Lake, Wisconsin by Reverend Karl Wedel. Florence was married to Roy Bartz on May 10, 1949 at Golden Lake Lutheran Church also by Reverend Karl Wedel.

She worked for Badger Meter in Brown Deer, Wisconsin for 23 years. Both Florence and Roy were long-time residents of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and later moved to Sun City West, Arizona in 1985 and became members of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband Roy, parents, Sister Ella Pridemore and Brothers Harold and Edwin Zahn. Florence is survived by three children; Tom Bartz of Scottsdale, Arizona, Diane (Ron) Covall of Fairfax, California and Dr. Steve (Tracy) Bartz of Janesville, Wisconsin. She also leaves behind three grandchildren; Brent, Matthew and Joshua, two great-granddaughters Madyline and Mackenzie, brother Arnold of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as many relatives and friends.

Graveside Services for Florence will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Garden of Valor at Sunland Memorial Park 15826 N. Del Webb Boulevard Sun City, AZ 85351. At the family’s request, please make a thoughtful donation in Florence’s memory to Fountain of Life Lutheran Church 15630 Del Webb Blvd. Sun City, AZ 85351.
