Dorothy Anna Saffouri was born on May 1, 1926 in the Township of Underhill, Wisconsin, the daughter of Esther Runge and Paul Wasmund. She was baptized at Christus Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gillett (Hinz), Wisconsin. She attended Frank Settlement grade school, also in Hintz.
She moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a housekeeper and nanny. Dorothy met her husband Albert, marrying him on June 5, 1948, at Emmaus Lutheran Church. Together they raised their six children. She was so patient. She later worked as a phone operator for AT&T, retiring 1988.
She had a long, happy, loving and gracious life. She enjoyed knitting, reading Western romance novels and playing bingo. She loved her children and all her grandchildren.
She was called peacefully to heaven on November 20, 2022.
She is survived by her children: son, Douglas Saffouri and his wife Diana of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Nancy and husband David Drescher of Lake Mills, Wisconsin; daughter, Debra and her husband Bobby Collins of Spring, Texas; and daughter Jennifer and her husband Carey Boatright of Glendale, Arizona. She has ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Her sisters, along with many nieces, nephews, additional family members and friends will think of her often.
Her husband, Albert; son Gary; daughter Susan Geiger; and son in law Douglas Geiger, all preceded her in death.
