Mary’s story began in Beaumont, Texas on August 22, 1963 to her late parents, Willie and Pearl Andrepont. Her formattable years were spent in Beaumont, Texas before moving to Louisiana and attending Lake Charles High School and finishing her studies at Sulphur High School graduating in 1981. After graduation, she attended McNeese State University where Mary earned a degree in Business Administration from the Delta School of Business.
On May 31, 1981, Mary married her best friend and lifelong love Carl Hardy, Sr. Later in that year, together they formed Carl Hardy Sr. Construction, in which she managed the business alongside her husband for over 38 years. Carl and Mary’s union was blessed with three amazing sons; Carl Hardy, Jr., Marcus and Matthew. As parents, Mary and Carl instilled in the sons a dedication to strong Christian values, devotion to family and the principles of hard work.
Mary, or “Lil Liz” as she was known to some family members, was a warm and loving person with a zest and passion for life, love and family. She enjoyed the company of good friends, family, cooking, shopping, taking care of others and traveling across the globe. Her passions also included a great love for any genre of music and would always have a happy smile.
Mary’s love for people and community has been reflected in the personal contributions she gave to the many number of organizations in which she was a member, including: The Red Hat Society, The Ladies Auxiliary, The Carmelites, The Catholic Daughters of Americas, The Come Holy Spirit Pilgrimage Retreaters, and The Serra Club of West Calcasieu. As a Eucharist Minister, Lecturer and Volunteer of over 30 years, Mary’s love, devotion and active participation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor is evident.
Mary has been preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Pearl Andrepont and granddaughter Parker Jade Hardy. Her life and grateful heart will continue in the hearts of those who loved her best; her husband of 43 years, Carl Hardy Sr., their 3 children, son Carl and Joni Hardy Jr. and their children, Kenzi and Xavier; son Marcus Dale and Heather Hardy and their children, Sebastian and Silas; son Matthew Hans and Brittany Hardy and their child Oliver, and godchildren, Kimberly Hardy and Sydney Brown. Mary will also be remembered by many friends, relatives, and extended family.
In remembrance of Mary, her eloquence and quick comeback whether it be in French or English always brought us laughter and a smile.
