She was a native of Magnolia, Arkansas and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1949, coming from Port Arthur, Texas. Mary and her husband, Jewell owned and operated Couch's Restaurant in Sulphur for well over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking care of her plants, and was an avid cat lover. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors include her three sons, Jimmy Couch and wife, Andrea of Singer, Glen Couch and wife, Joyce of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Ken Couch and wife, Mona of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her beloved cat, Molly.She is preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Couch.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Stark will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
