Mabel Trosclair Richardson, 82, was born April 12, 1940, to the late Henry and Gwendolyn Trosclair. She passed away on April 20, 2022, following a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mabel was an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothes for her children. She was active in her children’s school activities, including FFA Mothers’ Club, Room Mother, and PTA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her mother-in-law, Clarice Basco.
Mabel is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ben Richardson, Jr.; son, Craig Richardson (Robyn); daughters, Cynthia Beglis (Mike), Charmaine Coyle (Michael), and Kathleen Landry (Scott); grandchildren, Brooke English, Jill Garcia (Adrian), Clint English, Paul Beglis, Paul Richardson, Kerry Beth Richardson, Kelley Landry, Kristie Landry, and Cameron Landry (Megan); great-grandchildren, Noah Graves, Levi Ransonnet, and Houston Landry; sister, Dolores Gary (Albert); and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank Cecilia LeBlanc for her many years as caregiver, advocate, and best friend to Mabel throughout her time of need. They would also like to thank weekend caregiver, Eula McArthur, for her years of loving care. A special thank you to Heart of Hospice nurse, Missy Giles, for her dedicated and expert care, as well as the entire staff.
The family will welcome visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Rev. Timothy Goodly will officiate services. Mabel's sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, LA.
