Lora Marie Smith

She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Marie was a very spiritual person who has loved Jesus with her whole heart ever since she was a child. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and cooking for family gatherings. She was full of unconditional love and her family was the most important thing in her life.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Thigpen and husband, Alan of Lafayette and Debbie Simon and husband, Tim of Houston, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Renn Smith; her daughter, Pat Smith; her brother, Amady Hebert, Jr; a sister, Mable Savoie; a granddaughter, Patricia Kay David; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha David.

A private Celebration of Marie's life will be held by her family led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
