Gay Lynn Swire Varnes

Gay Lynn was raised in Hackberry and later in life moved to Dequincy. She worked for the Care Center of Dequincy and loved her residents there. She will be missed dearly by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her companion, Kendall Laughlin of Dequincy; her two daughters, Santana Burnett (Jonathan) and Charity Varnes, all of Sulphur; her siblings, Leslie Swire (Melody) of Baytown, TX, Mary Katherine Portie, Joseph Leonard "PeeWee" Swire (Jocelyn), Carolyn Hebert, Lionel Swire (Cristina) all of Hackberry; six grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Christian, Ayden, Sarah, and Jaxson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Lester Lee Swire and Lillian Drounett.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021 and will resume on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 8-10 a.m. in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 10 a.m. led by Jody Barrilleaux in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the New Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonsulphurmemorial.com
