Elda Trahan Rea

She was born in Lyons Point, Louisiana, south of Crowley. She moved to Sulphur, LA in 1944. Elda worked 34 years as the office manager for National Food Store and Weingarten, Inc. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Elda owned and operated rental property until her passing. She was an active member of AARP and Council on Aging for many years.

Elda is survived by her children, Esther Comeaux Howard and husband, Jack, Floyd Comeaux and wife, Charlotte Davis Comeaux, Ray Comeaux and wife, Shirley Chandler Comeaux; 10 grandchildren, L’Anna Howard Dock, Gera Howard Foster, Lance Howard, Patrick Howard, Perry Comeaux, Pam Comeaux, Brad Holley, Cody Holley, Aimee Comeaux Miller, Barry Comeaux; 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ulysses and Anna Cormier Trahan; husband, Hoy Rea; father of her children, Amos Comeaux; brother, Pierre Trahan; sister, Nolia Pickell; son, Larry Comeaux and great grandson, Danny Foster.

Her funeral Mass will be held 10am, Wednesday, July 30th at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Visitation will begin Tuesday, 5pm-7pm with a rosary at 7pm at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
