David Lynn Richard

He was a native of Moss Bluff. In 1976 he married the love of his life and moved to Sulphur. Together they raised three children, and have five wonderful grandchildren which were the center of his world. For the last thirty plus years he was a commercial fisherman. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sherry Jackson Richard; three children, David "Brandon" Richard and wife, Shanna, Ashley Gathright and husband, Trent, and Summer Lavergne and husband, Jeremy; five grandchildren, Chace, Hunter, Bryce, Allie, Paislee, and soon to arrive, Court; five brothers, Raymond, Jimmy, Ronnie, Jerry, and Randy Richard; two sisters, Patsy Richard and Gayla Sue Hebert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Dorothy Richard, and niece, Cyndi Richard Pratt.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
