Dana Paul Fontenot, 52, of Sulphur, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Dana was born on February 22, 1971 to Sanford and Merry Fontenot in Sulphur, Louisiana. He was a welder by trade and enjoyed doing that. Dana worked for Ohmstede, and was an estimator since 2009. He had worked in the refinery industry since 1989. He was a clown and always made people laugh; truly the life of the party. Dana loved spending time with his family any chance he got; they were his life.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Amy Fontenot; children, Jesse Fontenot (Savannah), Taylor Fontenot, Emilee Fontenot and Ethan Fontenot; mother, Merry Fontenot; sister, Elizabeth Dyke (Seth); brother, Mark Fontenot (Charlotte); along with three grandchildren, Jackson, Anthony and Waylon.
Dana was preceded in death by his father, Sanford Fontenot.
A Celebration of Dana's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Larry Lafleur will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 am, until the time of the service.
