Wayne Allen Parkin

He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Jack and Margaret Parkin.

Wayne graduated from Kimball High School in Royal Oak, Michigan where he was on the wrestling team. He earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Wayne moved to Houston, Texas in 1981 and married his college sweetheart, Laurie Herrick on December 27, 1983.

Wayne worked for over thirty years as a dispatcher for a courier company in Houston, Texas. He was an avid athlete and particularly loved running marathons and hiking in the mountains with his daughters. He loved to travel and plan family vacations.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 38 years, Laurie Parkin; daughters Tracey (Cameron) Achee of Missouri City, Texas and Erin (Steven III) Manis of Pearland, Texas; mother, Margaret Parkin of Castle Rock, Colorado; sister Christine (Casimer) Andary of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandchildren Addison Achee and Steven (Ace) Manis IV.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Parkin and brother, Steven Parkin

A memorial service for Wayne will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478, followed by a reception from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
