VALERIE MATHER WAINRIGHT, age 61, a fourth generation Houstonian, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was a graduate of Lamar High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Houston. Valerie was a member of The Junior League and The Young Republican National Federation. She was always active in politics and worked for The RNC, in Washington D.C. Valerie was a member at Palmer Episcopal Church, where she was involved with the Daughters of The King. She loved the beach and most importantly loved her family.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, William Wilson Wainright and Jane Oberwetter Wainright; and grandmother, Obie. She is survived by her brother, Wilson Wainright and his wife Jeannie; niece, Mather Stephanie Wainright; and cousins, DeWitt Bell, Dr. James M. Oberwetter and his wife Marylee, and Robert Oberwetter and his wife Dee.
As per Valerie’s wishes, there will be a private family service.
