Sheila Marie Richmond(Trull) passed away Thursday June 16th in Houston at the sge of 86. The daughter of Elliott “Doc” and Lela Trull was born in McAllen, TX on December 15, 1935 but returned to Bern, KS while still an infant.
She graduated from the school in Bern and then attended the University of Kansas. She graduated with a BS degree from the College of Fine Arts in the new field of Occupational Therapy. She then earned a Masters in Education from the University of Cincinnati.
She lived in Chicago and New Orleans before moving to Houston in 1969. She continued working in special education into her seventies. The daughter of a veternarian, Sheila loved animals but most of all her dogs. She trained and showed American Eskimos in obedience and agility all over the state and country and made many friends in the process. She believed in a life lived in service to others volunteering for many organizations including Crisis Hotline, Magnificant Soup Kitchen and Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Trull.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Gary Bilendy and Jenneane Cardenas, her niece and nephews, Sheila, Stephen and Rick Trull, and her grandchildren Molly, Seth, Sam, Emily, Liam and Faith. We love you, mom. You will be missed.
A visitation for Sheila will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478.
Sheila will be cremated in Houston and will be laid to rest next to her parents and brother in Bern, KS in a private ceremony later this Summer.
