George (Trey) Sylvester Pharis III

George S. Pharis, III (Trey) passed away Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at the age of 33. Born March 30, 1984 in Richmond, Texas at Polly Ryon Hospital, he graduated from Clements High School in 2002. Trey went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy form the University of Houston in 2011. Upon graduation, Trey pursed his interest in computer science and began working with the University of Houston Honors College IT Department under Dr. Dan Price, a mentor and friend. Trey was a poet, artist and a self-taught musician. He enjoyed all types of music, especially classical. He had his first book of poetry, Emoji Death mask, published the spring of 2016 by Maudlin House under the name Johnny Kiosk. He also enjoyed watching and rooting for the Astros and Rockets. A loving son, brother, cousin and friend, Trey had a huge heart and was always putting others first. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be sorely missed. Trey is preceded in death by his grandparents, George S. Pharis, Sr. and Edna Lee Pharis and his Aunt, Donna Karen Pharis. He is survived by his parents, George S. Pharis, Jr. and Mary Jane Pharis; his sister, Mary Kate Pharis and husband Trevor Blankenship; his girlfriend, Rosy Pinales; his Aunt and Uncle, Jan and Randy Lindsey; and his cousins, Erick Pharis, Lauren Lindsey and husband Chris MacFarland, Justin Lindsey and wife Lacy, and Morgan Hillis and husband Chris and numerous friends and colleagues. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 2:00pm at Christ Church, 3300 Austin Pkwy, Sugar Land, Texas 77479. There will be a private interment at Morton Cemetery, 900 Morton St., Richmond, Texas 77469 at a later date.
