Dee attended Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina on a voice scholarship and studied Public School Music. Music was always an important part of her life and she was a member of the church choirs of St. Philip’s Methodist Church in Houston and Sugar Land United Methodist Church. She shared her passion by teaching the Children’s Choirs at both of these churches, as well. Dee earned her real estate broker’s license in 1982 and was certified as a Texas Master Florist in 1989. Her company, Designs by Dee, provided floral arrangements for all occasions for over 20 years. Dee worked with several church groups including the St. Stephens Society and the Altar Guild. She loved fishing, golf and especially bridge with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Linda and Ed Miller of Anniston, Alabama, her first husband, Victor Bernhard Russek and second husband, Donald Williams, and her son, Robert Bernhard Russek. Surviving family members include daughter, Malinda Russek Crain and her husband, Alan, son, Richard Russek and wife, Rhonda and grandchildren, Philip Crain, Carson Crain, Reid Russek, Kelsey Russek, Sam Russek and Will Russek.
Visitation on Sunday, May 18, 3 – 5 pm at Settegast-Kopf at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral service on Monday, May 19 at noon at First United Methodist Church of Sugar Land, 431 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, with a reception following in the Great Hall. For those wishing to join the family for the interment, it will take place at 2:30 pm on Monday, May 19 at Forest Park – Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston.
Gifts in Dee’s memory may be made to First United Methodist Church of Sugar Land designating either the Society of St. Stephens or the Flower Guild.
