Richard "Ed" Wright

Ed was born on February 14, 1947 to the late Russell E. and Edna (Voss) Wright in Newburgh, NY.

Ed was married to the love of his life, Nancy Sovak, for 53 years. Lived and raised his family in Sloatsburg, NY.

He retired from Orange and Rockland after 35 years as an underground foreman. He was a member of the American Legion and the Masons for 53 years. He enjoyed his retirement being part of the Sloatsburg and Tuxedo Senior Citizens, and traveling with Nancy and his family. His favorite spots being Aruba and Ocean City, Maryland. For many, many years he loved going to Rio, camping with family and friends.

Ed loved his family! He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Wright; caring children, Heather Wright-Porto and Gerry Porto, Kimberly Wright and Gerard Keck, and Laura and Ken Trumper; beloved sisters and brothers, Jean Faharbach, June and Floyd Earl, Roger and Marge Voss, Sonny (Edward) and Annmarie Voss, Russell and Brenda Wright, Allen and Karen Wright. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Michaela, Luke, Alexandra and Haley. He was predeceased by his beloved sister Maryanne and her husband Nick Duvo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59 Suffern, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 1st at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY.
