Maureen Patricia Short (nee O’Sullivan) of Chestnut Ridge, New York passed away on September 3, 2021. Maureen was born on January 18, 1940 in Manhattan. She married Joseph Carlton Short on September 29, 1962. Maureen received her degree in Social Work from Fordham University and
was a Certified Social Worker with the Archdiocese of New York. She had a lifelong love of travel,
books, black and white movies, and was staunchly proud of her Irish heritage.
Maureen was a true character and a force to be reckoned with. One look could stop you in your tracks—thank goodness she had a good sense of humor as well.
Maureen is survived by her daughter Sue, Son-in-law Rick Tierney and grandchildren James
and Rhiannon, her brother John O’Sullivan and his wife Dottie and their daughter Shea, her brother James O’Sullivan and his wife Janet and their son James, and her sister-in-law Nancy Van Horne and
her husband Jim and their sons John and Chris. Other survivors include many cousins in New York, New Jersey, and Ireland. Maureen was predeceased by her husband Joseph and their son Joseph
Junior.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michele Leder for her compassionate care of Maureen throughout the years.
