Born in Suffern, Justine lived in Hillburn, NY all of her life. She worked at Avon Products, where she held several positions during her tenure and retired as a Finished Goods Inspector after working there for 34 years.
Justine is survived by her son, Stewart Wynn (Vickie), her granddaughter Shanna Wynn-Shirreffs (Jon) and her bouncing beautiful twin great-grandbabies Maya and Justin. She was predeceased by her husband James, 7 sisters: Cleo Gibbs, Gladys Van Dunk, Madeline Kyles, Jennie Mann, Geraldine Ayers, Jacqueline Van Dunk, and Anita Dixon and 4 brothers: John, Reginald, Walton and Edward. She was the last remaining member of a big family.
Justine was a member of Brook Presbyterian Church in Hillburn for over 70 years and loved to interact with the community. After retirement, she worked on the voting polls every year, and volunteered in the office of Christ Church in Suffern, NY. But her main interests after retirement were watching and spending time with her granddaughter, whom she lovingly referred to as Shanna J.
She always enjoyed a good laugh, doing crossword puzzles, watching the Knicks and Mets, and listening to good R&B and dance music. If Lionel Ritchie or Marvin Gaye came on, she couldn’t resist dancing and singing along.
She was genuine, caring, happy go lucky and had no problem speaking her mind. She always had a friendly “dolly” or “dearie” for all those she encountered and had a real zest for life.
