He was born in Yonkers, NY, and attended St. Denis School and Manhattan Prep (‘71) where he perfected his beautiful penmanship.
Skip graduated from Fordham University (‘75) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Pace University with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He dedicated the entirety of his 40+ year career to the Westchester County Department of Social Services, last serving as an Associate Commissioner.
Skip was predeceased by his father, Fred B. Natoli Jr., and mother, Mary Natoli (nee Gentile). He is survived by his partner, Diane Stern, and his children, Michael, Tommy (Kara), Gina “Dollie,” their mother, Joanne Natoli and step-children, Michael Starego (Samantha) and Samantha Taras (Gene).
Skip was a devoted father who shared his hobbies and passions with his children and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and New York Rangers. Skip was always around the game of baseball, first as a player and then as a coach, mentor and dedicated scorebook keeper. He played the guitar and sang, learning and performing many of his favorite artists’ songs. Skip was a collector of toy trains and built several acclaimed model railroad displays. His love of sports, music, trains, history, New York City, Christmas and the beach will live on through his loved ones.
A visitation for Fred will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 3-5 PM & 7-9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY with entombment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
