Fred and the Moro family played a lot of great music together at church Folk Masses in the early 1970's; ( loved the music from Godspell)  he loved his Ovation guitar, playing touch football at the Van Cortland Park on Saturdays. He was a decent Caryl Avenue Yonkers boy for sure, filled with passion and love of music. 
He sang at my wedding.  Godspeed, Skip. I forgive you for breaking my nose in a touch football tussle, when we were all so young and impetuous. We'll straighten it out on the other side!

I was shocked to hear of Skip's passing.  From the big train layout in his Yonkers D O office to our constant bickering about chord progressions on the guitar - not to mention the Martin Vs Gibson & Fender discussions - Skip was always fun to be with.   His in depth knowledge of  the Putnam Division of the NY Central and his DVDs about it were truly impressive,  Also, he  had a positive - and helpful - way of dealing with any work issues.  My condolences to Diane and the family.

Skip was one of those friends that, if you are lucky, will pass through your life, leaving you feeling that you were blessed beyond measure.
 
Smart and funny, creative and sensitive, he was always “on” to the world around him, the public he served, his friends and most importantly, his family.

He was a train nut from very early in life, with a passion and deep knowledge for the New York Central because he was immersed in its environs for his entire life.
 
He loved Christmas & trains, riding trains, building train layouts and sharing his joy of trains with everyone and anyone who showed any interest at all.  Lucky me.  It was a kinship we shared.
 
 
I will miss our random conversations, his enthusiasm for model railroading and the countless hours we have shared as friends and collaborators.

Dear Diane  and  Family, 
I first met Skip at the Yonkers DO on Ashburton Ave in 1977. He was  young,  talented, energetic, smart, personable, kind, and caring of his staff. You knew he would succeed in the agency someday. And succeed he did.
He never lost those attributes of being "personable kind and caring of his staff ".  Treating them as people,  as persons just like he always did  no matter how high he climbed. And they knew it, and respected him to his face and behind his back. Something that is rare today.
This is "his" Legacy. An Honorable Legacy that is the True measure  of a Good Mans life!

What more can I say except what all of us are saying---what an amazing loss to so many of us.  I hardly knew him personally.  Never got to meet him--always going to be "next year at York, or another train show.  But he made me so proud when he asked me to provide me with all the backdrops for his trains which I did gratefully.  But what a loss.  What a person!!  We'll all be less without him.

I was so shocked to hear  of Skip's passing. He was not  only  a co worker for many years  with the Dept of Social Services, but a good friend as well. My sincere condolences  to the family.  He will certainly be missed.

My deepest condolences to Diane, Gina, Tommy, and Michael. Skip was a great guy. Always smiling and with a great sense of humor.  Although I have worked with Skip in a County work capacity, I have many more memories as Skip, "My Friend" as we were part of the same lunch (in the County) and breakfast (outside the County) crews. His face lit up like the tree at Rockerfeller Center when he spoke of his wonderful children, Gina, Tommy, and Michael, or when his phone rang during lunch and it was one of his kids.
Skip will be missed. May he RIP.

So shocked to hear of Skip's passing- gone much too soon!! We all grew up together at DSS; we are family, and his untimely passing hurts our hearts!!  He was a rock- dependable, steady, knowledgeable, easy-going guy we all called upon and he had a smile as bright as a light.  I remember him at the Family Ties dinners too, always with a helping hand!!  My Dad always said, Memories are Forever! I worked with Skip in the Yonkers DO.  My condolences to the family, and he will be sorely missed.  Skip was a beautiful  soul, with a smile to greet you when entering his office.  Some people are forgotten after awhile, but not Skip, once you have met him, you don't  forget him and I  retired in 1995 and moved away.  So I  was very sad to hear of his departure.  May he sing with the Angels.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Skip's passing. We worked together in various capacities since the 90's and he always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. I can still see the small notebook he always carried with him to take notes in his exquisite penmanship. My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and the family.

Skip was a dear friend, coworker for over 30 years and fellow softball player. Will always remember him.

My heart and blessings go out to the family. Skip was such a wonderful, uplifting person. It was a pleasure for my husband and I to Play on the WPDO Softball team with him.  His passion, and Kindness will be so missed.

I didn't meet Skip until a few years before his retirement. But, I do know for a fact that the tree lighting ceremony in his office was a highlight of the year!! The Christmas season after his retirement really noted his not being in the office and was really felt by us all.   I would like to offer his loved ones, family, and friends my deepest condolences. He was truly a great person.

I was saddened to hear about the death of Skip Natoli.  I remember him from work as a warm and friendly person with a good sense of humor.  May his loved ones and friends hold onto all the good times and memories they had of Skip.

Skip and I knew each other from high school. We reconnected through Facebook. I loved seeing his pictures with his kids, the wonderful train set ups and I loved when he put up his music videos. I only regret I didn't get to actually see him again. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I want to express my sincerest condolences. I was shocked and heartbroken to hear the news of Skip’s passing.  I have such fond memories of Skip. I worked with Skip at DSS since 2008 -2017 when i was  then promoted to the Health Department. I have great memories of Skip speaking to him in his office surrounded by his train sets and even a grenade on his desk as I remember. He gave me great encouragement and  advice thru the years as I now use and advise others.   He would tell me to be patient and my time would come and I have and it did. I am now the Director of HR at the Health Department. I will sorely miss Skip as he has left a great impression on me as well as many others I would imagine. May memories of him put a smile on your face and may the pain of his lose lesson with each day. We are all on this earth temporarily as we will be reunited with our loved ones in the afterlife which is our true home which we all are just returning to when our time comes. Skip was one of the most awesome human beings I’ve ever met  and one of my favorite bosses.  He was a simple soul with a big heart. He loved trains. Used to love  watching them go around his office. He loved  music ; we sang  and played  a time or two. He  was a diehard Yankee fan! Most of all he loved his DSS family.  I am truly blessed to have  known him. RIP until we meet again.❤️

I am sad to learn of Skip's passing.  I knew Skip from the many years of working together in several offices.  I first met Skip in Yonkers  He was so very friendly and made me feel welcomed.  I was amazed by his collection of trains and how he set them up in his office.  
Skip also had an incredible knowledge of the history of Yonkers. I felt connected because of my own interest in the River towns.  He told me that "back in the day" there was a lift to transport passengers from the train station up to Warburton Ave.

Yesterday was a very sad day.  I learned that I lost a good friend and my childhood hero within a matter of eight hours.  My friend was taken much too early in life.  My hero lived a full and long life.  What made it even harder for me was that Skip and I were going to the Mets/Yankee game on the 26th of June.  
Ever since 2016 we would try to get together and see the Mets play the Yankees at Citi Field once a year, and most of the time Skip’s Yankees won  Although, I had known Skip for over 46 years it was at these games that I truly believe we became good friends.
I knew Skip was a multifaceted, multitalented individual, with artistic and musical talents.  I also became aware of his passion for politics, and the positions he took politically. And of course there was his trains. But the most important thing for him was his  family.  You could just tell how proud he was of his children, and the adults they had become. It made me realize what a wonderful father he was.
So on June 18, every year I will remember Willie Mays and Skip, a great ball player and a great friend.
RIP my friend, and some day I hope to see a game with you again.

When we were at Pace together, Marge Gotti misheard his name and kept calling on someone named "Chip" sitting behind me. Skip was such a good guy that he didn't correct her. Of course, I blurted out " Who the hell is Chip?" My condolences to Diane and his family. One of the good ones.

I only knew Skip via our mutual interest in model trains on several Facebook users group. I always admired his layouts and also often listened to him sing his best friend's songs. I feel that had we met in person we would have been best friends. I will miss you Skip,

Skip was a kind and fair gentleman. I enjoyed working for him , and enjoyed our conversations about trains and old music.  I offer my sincerest condolences and I pray that God will be a source of comfort and strength at this time to his family, friends and all that knew him,  loved him, and will miss him.

Skip was my boss for many years & we shared many laughs especially the annual Christmas tree lighting in his office. He never stressed about work & just enjoyed his life.  My deepest condolences to Diane & his children whom he loved so much.  God bless you Skip.

So very sad to hear this.  Skip was one of my first supervisors in DSS in Ossining.  We worked with a great group of people and although it was work , we  had so much fun.  
He became a good friend and we stayed in touch on and off throughout the years.  
My biggest memory is that on st pattys day he would lighten the work load and let us spend most of the day in the kitchen cooking corned beef and cabbage , enough for the entire office.

I’m so sorry to hear about Skip’s passing. We worked together many years at DSS. We played on the softball team together and had a team reunion a few years ago. One of my favorite stories is when I told Skip I went to see Bob Dylan with (co-workers) Dave Devine and Fred Broege at Thunder Ridge! Skip said, “Oh I didn’t know those guys were playing with Bob!” I still crack up thinking about it. Skip and his friend Joe from IT used to bring their guitars to work and play Beatles songs on their lunch break. They let me sit in one time on harmonica. They were very good. I loved talking with Skip about his meeting Neil Young at train shows and talking only about trains, not music. Skip often kept pretzels in his office, along with toy trains which made it an enjoyable place to spend some time at work. He loved his guitars, I think he was a Martin guitar guy if I remember correctly. I have to admit I enjoyed his political commentary. Love Skip and will miss him. Love to his family. David Sweet
