Born in Suffern, NY, she was the daughter of Mildred Conklin Reed and Roger Reed.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth L. Wanamaker of 49 years, brother Roger Reed, sister Eleanor Reed Clawson, her son Carlyle E. Wanamaker, Jr., and brother Irving Reed.
She is survived by her five daughters: Peggy and her husband John Messmer, Karol Faasee, Beverly and her husband Lee Cooper, Barbara Lazicki and Valerie and her husband Ken Finch, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Wanamaker; also ten grandchildren, five great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, along with several nieces and nephews.
A lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, Dolores served as Matron in 1975 and 1987; she also joined the Leptondale Bible Church in 1988. Dolores was a born again believer in Christ. In 1990, she became an auxiliary member of the Gideon's International Mid-Hudson Camp, 31255 serving a term as President and zone leader.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home followed by interment at Airmont Cemetery on South Airmont Road, Suffern, NY.
