Ann “Nancy” George, a resident of Sloatsburg, NY, passed away on July 26, 2024. She was 83 years old. Nancy was born on October 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edward and Eileen (Glennon) Callahan. Before her retirement, she worked for many years as an executive secretary. She was an avid reader and a passionate fan of her beloved New York Mets. She is remembered by her family as being the most logical and organized member. She was always there to listen and lend a supporting hand to all. She especially loved being Nanny to Meaghan, Ryan and Matthew Sheehan, and spending time with them whenever she could. She was a second mother to her niece and nephew, Lisa Gennarelli and Glenn Schaefer and loved spending time with them. Nancy was a fierce Uno player, and played the draw 4 card with pure joy, no matter how old her competitors were.
She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Kimberly, her sisters, Eileen Schaefeand Joan DiPaolo.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur A George, her brothers, Edward “Buddy” Callahan, Robert Callahan and James Callahan and her sister, Catherine Mackey
An inurnment will be scheduled for 11 am Friday, August 2nd at Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430, section 17
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to Tunnels to Towers
