Adelaide M. Jason of Airmont, NY, passed away February 9th, 2011 at the age of 76. She was born on August 15th, 1934 in the Bronx, NY to Peter and Veronica Fogarty. After receiving her BA from Fordham University and a Master’s degree from Hunter College, Adelaide had a long and rewarding career with the New York City Board of Education as a special education teacher. Adelaide enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting, and reading. She was a lector and choir member for Saint Boniface Church in Monsey, NY of which she was a founding member. She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Jason Sr. She is survived by her sisters Patricia Dison of Houston, TX and Peggy Harrington of Bronxville, NY. Adelaide is also survived by her children, daughter Patrice Kaldany and her husband Herbert of Voorhees, NJ, daughter Deanne Dunne and husband Frank of Ridgewood, NJ, and her son Ronald Jason Jr. and his wife Nancy of Milford, PA, eight grandchildren Caitlin, Raymond, and Julia Kaldany, Patrick and Olivia Dunne, and Amanda, Ronald III, and Timothy Jason.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY 10901. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 14th at St. Boniface Church, 5 Willow Tree Road, Wesley Hills, NY followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. Donations will be graciously accepted in Adelaide’s name by Saint Boniface Church, 5 Willow Tree Road, Wesley Hills, NY 10952.
