“The Big Guy”

Stephen passed away peacefully with his loving wife Laurie by his side. In Laurie’s words: “He was the most genuine and kindest person I have ever known." Stephen was a man who was generous to all, performing random acts of kindness such as giving flowers to the elderly, buying meals for strangers and making donations to many charities, including his favorite, The Jimmy Fund. More than just a good citizen, Stephen was also a leader and mentor, loyal friend, and family man. He worked for SunLife Financial in leadership for 40 years, where he made lifelong friendships and served as a role model to many in both their personal and professional lives. He took great care to ensure that everyone entrusted to him felt valued and respected. He had a way of putting people at ease with his quick sense of humor that would often leave them laughing until tears rolled down their cheeks. He will forever be remembered by his annual birthday meatball contest and the fact that he never littered.

When he wasn’t working or doting on his family, Stephen enjoyed reading novels and biographies, playing his drums to the music of John David Garibaldi (Tower of Power) and Dino Danelli (the Rascals), traveling, and watching sports.

Stephen was deeply cherished by his late parents, Regina and Joseph Reynolds, whom he diligently cared for in their final years. In addition to Laurie, his wife of 38 years, he leaves behind his four loving siblings, Michael, Nancy, Brian, and Jean; his devoted brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. During his lifetime, Stephen was also best buddies with his dogs, Gizmo and Brodie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Research or National Kidney Foundations.
